Hello

Yes, I just want to say hello to my invisible reader (s?), haha. Sorry for the long silence. Not much to share lately. I just want you to know that I am still around, and my frequent visit to your site/s is the proof. I seldom leave footprints though, but rest assured that reading your blog/s makes my day complete. Thank you for the inspiration.

Roadtrip

Last month my family went to the province to attend the wedding of my SIL. And instead of taking a flight which is the most practical means of transportation nowadays, the hub opted that we travel via road/sea trip. And though I was quite hesitant at first because it would took us one night and two days on the road plus a ferry boat ride in between, I gave-in to his plan. And gee, I was so glad that we did ,cause aside from the chance of seeing the beauty of the countryside,

we get to bond with each other really well. Afterall, we got nothing to do inside the car as we travel but talk, munch junkies and sleep (except for the one driving of course). And as a bonus, we were able to sample/eat local delicacies everytime we made a stop-over for a breather and some stretching. Sure, roadtrip is physically tiring but at the same time FUN. Here’s a pic while our car is crossing the San Juanico bridge:

A date with sis

Earlier today sis J texted me and asked that we meet at the shopping mall near our place. And since niece J  is also at my place to visit me and my son, I tag her along.

Yehey! Sis treat us to a lunch at Max’s. As usual, food was great. But more than that, we had a lovely time just being together and sharing our thoughts on just about everything. And what a lovely surprise, sis gave me her belated gift for my birthday, this purse in the pic. After our hearty lunch, we decided to watch a  movie. Fun, fun ,fun.  I sure would want to have more dates with sis in the near future. To mana J, thank you for being such a wonderful sister to me. The fact that you are the one who sent me to college, I am forever grateful to you.  I love you sis and God bless you and your family, always.

Wedding Favors

Someone close to me is soon to be married and had requested me to help her choose/canvass for her wedding favors. The first place that came to my mind where to look for possible items is Divisoria and Ongpin. So this morning I went there but only found a few designs such as these

.

I don’t know if they will like these designs , so this coming weekend I will look for more interesting pieces maybe in Quiapo or Sta. Cruz.  Really, got no other idea where to canvass for other designs. If you happen to know other sources, please let me know.

Can not update my blog as often as I want. Old folks are here with us for a vacation, so I’m quite busy in the house. Since I quit my job, I opted not to hire any help anymore…to save, hehe.

Simbang gabi

Dec 16, marks the first day of simbang gabi and I was happy I was able to attend the mass with sis. The church was jampacked with church goers, it’s just good that we came earlier cause there were still a vacant pew. After the mass, we hoped to buy some puto-bumbong or bibingka but ended up eating pancakes at Jbee instead. Paano naman kasi, sa dami nang namili naubusan na yong nagtitinda. Sorry to us, better luck next time. Here’s the pic of simbang gabi in our parish:

And speaking of simbang gabi, few more days and it’s Christmas. So I would like to greet you in advance a very Merry Christmas. God bless everyone.

Bonding with my siblings

What’s up? Been busy lately cause sister is back from the province. So just before she left again for another year of “toil” somewhere, we made some bonding with our other siblings.

So last weekend, on a Saturday night our eldest bro invited us, her sisters to a dinner at seafoods resta. So thoughtful of him (thanks mano, luv u). I tag along my son cause we planned to stay for a night at my sis’ home after our date with big bro. I feasted on buttered crabs and shrimps, my all-time favorite foods but got no pictures cause I was too hungry then. We arrived late, that is why. After dinner,  videoke muna sila (si bro and sis1J) at kami ni sis2 kwentuhan with our sis in-law( kasi di kami marunong kumanta, hehe). While the kids kept themselves busy with their gadgets.

The following day, my sis1 treated us for a lunch at Don Henricos and we filled our tummies with these:

. It was a heavy meal again, I felt bloated for a couple of days. But more than the food, it was a wonderful time for me cause I was able to bond with my two sisters which is a very rare oppurtunity for us, since we are quite busy with our respective endeavors. As my son puts it ” ma ang saya-saya mo pag kasama mo sila auntie”. Indeed I am. For being with them means having the chance to be treated again as their “bunso”, to be silly , or moody and yet loved and accepted. Ayy…got to stop this before I will emote again, hehe. Have a nice day everyone.

Sunset of my youth

Yay! drama/corny ng title. Can’t help it, everytime I remember my hometown, specifically the beauty of sunset which we used to watch either along the town’s wharf or by the seashore, (picture grabbed from DI friendster account, thanks to the moderator)

Those were my growing-up years, as a young girl who started to weave her small dreams in the island she called home. Life was simple then, but laughters were seemed more real and heartfelt. Afternoons spent with friends, singing/humming along with the strums of a guitar, sharing jokes and our childhood dreams or simply spent our time enjoying the sea breeze and the beauty of sunset. And just before the island will be enveloped with darkness (walang electricity don noong time namin), we rushed to each our home so we won’t to be scolded by our parents, haha.

That is why, though I seldom get to visit my hometown since I started college, it will always be a special place for me. The place of happy memories where I witnessed the most beautiful sunset of my youth.

P.S. sorry sa emote. makulimlim kasi panahon. nakikisabay lang.

Hello Again!

Just when I thought I am that open already in sharing my life /thoughts with the cyber world, here I am having second thoughts. I must admit though that the comments I gain from my few blog entries is kind of inspiring. That somehow, someone bothered to read and leave their “footprints” sort of gives me the push to continue this. I just hope that I could consistently do it, overcoming my apprehensions in the process. So should I say, Good luck to me? Whatever, I have to say bye for now. Goodnight and thanks for visiting my little home.

Being a SAHM

After almost 20 years of being a career woman, experienced and worked my way from the bottom to the top (not so top, really) so to speak, I felt burned-out. And called it perfect timing, an option was kind of presented to me that made me decide to try the life of a full-time mother and wife or shortly called SAHM (Stay at home mom). And I should say that being a SAHM is the kind of life that I dreamed of (ang babaw ko!) even before I had landed my first job and later met my destiny.

So what am I trying to say in here? Well, I just want to say that being at home and being hands-on to all domestic responsibilities is fulfilling for me indeed. But there is this sad realization, that some people I know do not appreciate this kind of life that I chose…to be one simple mom. Well, I just hope they will, soon.

As for now, the fact that my dear son loves my being around  and  hubby not being pushy of me looking for another job are enough reasons to make me smile and continue to savor the blessedness of a SAHM. But who knows? God willing, I might be back to the action field again.
